We’re excited to announce that construction is set to commence in September on Somerville Central’s expansion.
Construction will take place in two separate locations across the centre:
- Site A: the grass area along Graf Road, which will be a two-storey building, comprising of retail stores along the Ground Level, and office spaces along Level 1
- Site B: the grass area behind the centre, which will be a single storey set of warehouses/commercial spaces (STCA)

The addition of nearly 400sqm of retail space will further strengthen the retail offer within the Somerville community, providing a mix of lifestyle goods, dining, everyday essentials, and professional services; ultimately enhancing everyday convenience for the community.
The expansion will also provide over 500sqm of commercial office space in varying sizes and nearly 1,200sqm of commercial warehousing space across five warehouses; providing the perfect solution for local businesses looking to be conveniently positioned in the heart of Somerville.

The centre will remain fully operational throughout the construction period, with clear signage and traffic management in place to ensure safe and convenient access at all times. We acknowledge there may be some temporary disruption during certain stages of the works, and we will work closely with our contractors to minimise impacts wherever possible.
Once construction commences, temporary fencing will be put in place around the construction sites. Please be advised that to maintain safety, the perimeter of the fencing for Site A along Graff Road will extend into the first two rows of parking bays, temporarily taking away car spaces for the duration of the construction period.
